Survey Results

In October, 2009, a street team of Newark residents surveyed other Newark residents face-to-face throughout Newark’s 20 neighborhoods. The questions included:

• What are the biggest problems in your neighborhood? See results.
• What are the best things about your neighborhood?
• What kind of service or program could do the most good for your community? See results.
• Did the recent hospital closings in the area affect you? See results.
• Do you know where people can go to get the following health services? See results.
• Do you or someone close to you have the following housing problems? See results.
• When you had a problem or concern, where would you personally go to take care of it? See results.
• What changes do you see in Newark recently? How do you feel about them? See results.
• What city officials or organizations do you trust? Are there any that you don’t trust? See results.
• What could YOU do to improve your community? If you are already active in your community, what do you do?
• Are you interested in participating in focus groups, community forums etc. in the future? See results.
